What You'll Need For Autumn Motorcycle Riding

Blog

Fall is one of the best times of the year to start looking into buying pre owned motorcycles. So many people buy a fresh pre-owned bike in the spring, ride it all season, and then, when fall rolls around, they hurry to sell it so they don't have to find somewhere to store it all winter long. What will you need to be able to get out there and enjoy a few chilly rides without freezing your buns off? Here, you'll find a few things to look into to make chilly-weather riding more comfortable for you.

Good Tires

Fall colors provide you with a beautiful backdrop for all of your autumn rides, but those leaves falling on the roads are hazardous to hit on two wheels. Check the tires on the bike – if they are low on tread or are lesser quality tires, invest in upgrades. The tires are the only thing keeping the bike upright, so don't skimp on the tires if you're planning on riding on wet, leaf covered roads.

Windshield

The cool air might feel nice while you're sitting at a stoplight, but when you get out on the roads, that cool breeze can become downright freezing. A windshield will go a long way in protecting you from the cold. If you don't like the looks of a windshield on your bike, look into the removable ones. They can quickly be put on so that when you're riding in the cold or hitting the highways, you'll have the wind protection that you'll need for a comfortable ride.

Riding Gear

Leather up from head to toe! A lined leather jacket, thick leather gloves, a pair of chaps and good boots will keep you nice and warm on the chilliest of fall days. This can be a big investment if you're buying it all at once, but once you have a complete set, you'll never be able to go back to riding without them again.

Quality leather riding gear not only keeps you warm, but it will also help to protect your skin if you were to ever lay the bike down. The thicker the leather, the longer you can slide on the pavement before it reaches your skin.

With the right bike and the right gear, your riding season can go well into the late weeks of fall. Get out there, get a great deal on the bike of your dreams and ride until the first flake of snow falls.

accessorizing a scooter

I wanted to find a fun way to spend more time outside. Since I spend most of the work week inside, I was hoping to find a fun way to get out in the sun on the weekends. That is why I went out and bought myself a motor scooter. Some of my friends giggled when I told them what I had bought, but after accessorizing it and taking it for a few rides, many of them have begun to understand why I love getting out on my scooter each weekend. Go to my blog to learn about scooter safety and to find some accessories that can make it look awesome!
